Academic Curriculum

At Akshara School we believe that education should be a transformative experience. Our program is based on a diverse curriculum that develops students' core skills and knowledge for success in school and beyond. We know that every student has the capacity for greatness. Learning should be a positive and rewarding experience for all students. As humans, we are naturally curious and inquisitive. We are all creative and innovative. Akshara School believes in fostering these traits and providing students with the skills and understanding to achieve success in any discipline.

Akshara School provides a caring, friendly and well-structured educational environment. We value students who are intellectually curious and creative and mentor them towards attaining academic excellence. The emphasis is on the holistic development of the child. Co-curricular activities, and responsibility towards the environment are integrated into the learning process. The efforts are to remain abreast with the latest in the field of education, so that the academic programme remains contemporary and rigorous at all times.

The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). English is the medium of instruction. The school has a dedicated faculty of highly qualified and efficient teachers, who use modern techniques of teaching. The learning needs of each student are met in an environment that is supportive and affirming. Remedial and enrichment classes are regularly conducted to optimize learning outcomes. The students of Akshara School have excelled in all fields and have proceeded to study in the top colleges of India and abroad.

Academic Year

The academic year of the school is from April to March with a summer vacation and two short vacations one in September/October and the other in January.

Tests and Examinations

The school believes in imparting a sense of learning in the students rather than merely supplying information. It not only aims at the acquisition of knowledge but also cultivates an enquiring mind in each child. In order to assess the accomplishment of this aim, internal - assessment tests (periodic tests) and examinations will be conducted in the place of semister system (no formative assessments and summative assessments). As per the recent examination reforms of CBSE, 9 point grading system along with the marks is introduced from the academic years 2017-18 in the scholastic areas.
